WHAT IS THE DIVINE NATURE? AND WHY DO WE HAVE BIBLE STUDY?

We choose to study the Bible so we may learn and apply more of Christ's divine nature. The divine nature is God's nature, often called divinity. It is used in a sentece, like “divinity school” In pursuit of this we begin to see and know God who is an invisible entity. Yet we are provided with a way to know him through knowing Jesus.

Colossians 1: 13-17: Jesus who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And not only to know him, the invisible God, but to share in His divinity.

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

He has allowed us to escape from greed and hurtfful lusts, and being fooled by false gods. Satam is like a torrent of influence that sweeps the whole world under its spell, like a raging watercourse, so if you imagine a great flood, a tsunami, where it is impossible to escape without God's arm of help as in God reached down to do the impossible, in giving you an awakening to his existence, He gave it to you and why not the next guy?? God picked you. Why? We learn that in spite of our sin, He loves us.!

The Bible teaches that Satan owns the whole world of the unawakened, unsaved, fleshly people, blind, deaf to anything beyond their own pleasure. And this enemy power threatened to sweep away all goodness, but God plucked us out of the course of this world.and by grace we are saved.

Ephesians 2:2: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

When we are awakened to the spirit side of creation in Jesus Christ. And suddenly we know that flesh is not the only side of existance. The Bible talks about a spiritual awakening that comes to us because as Jesus teaches in John Chapter 3, where a man is born once in the flesh and again in the spirit and where once we were blind, now we see. This awakening has happened to millions. It can happen to you.

How we relate to God is only partly in our flesh, but moreover in the phenomena of our spirit? Bible Study helps us to understand this age-old mystery called “The Good News”. And more than that Good News, .ie, The Gospel teaches that God is searching for you. If you had a child that was lost, wouldn't you search for him?

2 Chron 16:9: For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is turned in maturity toward him.

That is the good work God wants to do in you. So by you seeking God and allowing His work to continue in you it all comes to fruit and completion, and you are in fact coming in to His will for your life. And that is sealed with this promise:

Phillippians 1:6: He who has begun a good work in you will complete it unto the day of Christ Jesus.

What is this spiritual revelation we talk about? Revelation is something where the cover is taken off. The greek word for revelation is apocalypse. Literally meaning to “taking the cover off and see”. Looking under the hood. And another greek word we use is epignosis. Literally meaning “knowing that you know”. If we are partakers in the study of God's Word, then we are truly “Taking the Cover Off”.

God bless you this week, and every week, In Jesus name. Amen.
